1. General

Romania-Insider.com website and its subdomains, further referred to as “the Website” or “Romania-Insider.com” is owned by Business Insider SRL, based in Romania, Bucharest, Bucharest, District 1, 8 Puskin Alexandru Sergheevici St., registered at the Bucharest Trade Registry under the number J40/6901/2011, C.I.F. 28588173. Business Insider SRL, further referred to as “We” or “Us”, is the data controller of the personal data submitted and processed by accessing the Website, subscribing our newsletters, purchasing a service or participating in a promotion campaign, awarding process or event organised by us.

We process the personal data provided by you, further referred to as “The User” or “You”, in accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

2. What personal data do we collect?

We collect information on our website in two ways: directly provided by you when purchasing a service from us, filling in a form on our website, sending an email or calling us and automatically, when using our Website and Services. We use both types of data to improve our service.

The personal data provided directly by you consist of the name and e-mail address provided when subscribing to our newsletters or filling in a contact form on our website. We sometimes may additionally require your phone number, company name and your position within the company when filling in a services order form or other request form, in order to contact you if more information is needed regarding the request, as well as get back to you with a personalized advertising offer or more information on the services you requested.

When purchasing a membership subscription we collect the information provided by you by creating an account and/or purchasing a membership plan or by filling in a contact form on our website, for the purpose of entering into a contract with you and delivering the services or answering the requests submitted. We also use the information provided to ensure the functionalities of the services - such as loggin it to our website, delivering the premium newsletters included in your membership, for customer administration and to communicate with you in matters related to your subscription and account on our website, accounting and invoicing, ensuring payment security and risk assessment. This personal data includes full name (first name and last name), e-mail address, IP address, phone number, postal address and billing information such as: billing name, invoice email, country, county/region, city, postal address and – for company subscriptions – company identifiers such as the VAT ID and trade register number. Card payments are processed by our payment provider Stripe on Stripe’s own secure pages: full card numbers are handled by Stripe and never reach or get stored on our servers.

The information we collect automatically when you use our services consists in: log data– information collected automatically by our servers, including information that your browser sends when using it, that may include anonymized Internet Protocol address, the address of the web page you visited before using the Services, your browser type and settings, the date and time of your use of the Services, time spent on a certain page, information about your browser configuration and plug-ins, language preferences, cookie data; device information – depending on what type of device you are using and its settings, we may collect information about what type of device you are using, what operating system you are using, device settings, application IDs, unique device identifiers, and crash data; geolocation information– IP addresses and geo location data received from your browser or device may be used to determine approximate location; interaction with our newsletters– we collect information about your interaction with our newsletters, information that is stored and processed via Mailchimp, consisting in: whether you opened a certain newsletter, date and location information for subscribing and opening an email based on IP, whether you opened a link within the newsletter.

When you choose to receive push notifications from our website, we collect information about your device and interaction with us such as: what push notifications you have been sent, information about your interactions with our website, geographic location - country, as well as system configuration information: information about your browser, such as browser language type and version of operating system - e.g., Android, iOS; language setting; time zone; a unique cookie identifier, which may uniquely identify you (such as in de-identified or anonymous form).

We also collect some demographic information that helps us identify our readers’ preferences, in a statistical manner. Romania-Insider.com also uses cookies, details about which you can find out in the next section.

4. Why do we collect and process the data?

Depending on the type of data collected, we have several purposes for collecting the data:

4.1. In order to deliver services to you or answering the requests received via the forms on our website, respectively sending the newsletters you subscribed to, or the advertising/ services offer required.

4.2. When becoming a member of the Romania Insider community we will use your personal data in order to enter into the contract and deliver the services to you or answering the requests received via email or a contact form on our website. We also use the contact information provided, namely, e-mail address or phone number for customer administration and to communicate with you in matters related to your subscription and your account on our website.

4.3. We may use your name and email address for marketing purposes, for sending you direct advertising via email, about our own products and services or on behalf of our selected partners. Your consent for this purpose can be withdrawn anytime by sending a request to us in one of the ways mentioned in point 6 in the present policy or by updating your preferences or unsubscribing from a newsletter received.

2. authorities or public institutions, including courts, such us tribunals, regulators, accountants, auditors, or other external consultants to the extent it is required to: (a) fulfill legal obligations imposed on Business Insider SRL; (b) protect and pursue Business Insider SRL’s, the other User’s or third party rights, including intellectual property rights; (c) protect the Business Insider SRL’s, other User’s or third party’s security; (d) perform and execute the rights and obligations provided in the Terms and Conditions;
3. where it’s in our legitimate interest to manage or grow our business, to transaction parties, advisors and consultants for the purpose of an eventual reorganization, including sale, merger or other divestiture of our business, in whole or in part.

6. What are your rights as the User in relation to personal data?

We will not retain your personal information longer than necessary. We will hold onto the information you provide either while your newsletter subscription is in existence or for as long as it’s necessary to provide support-related reporting and trend analysis only. For the information collected via other forms on our website, depending on the scope of your message, we’ll retain your personal data for as long as it’s necessary to address your request.

If legally required or if it is reasonably necessary to meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our Terms and Conditions, we may also retain some of your information for a limited period of time as required, even after you unsubscribe, or it is no longer needed to provide the services to you.

We will treat your personal data in a manner compatible with the confidentiality notification under which it was collected, unless we have your consent to treat them differently.
